At the Core
As a faith based community, the foundation of our existence rest in biblical principals and truths. Here is an overview of our core beliefs.
OUR BELIEFS
THE BIBLE
We believe the bible to be infallible word of God. We believe the bible was written by a collective of human authors yet inspired by the oneness of God and under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is our guide in faith and Christendom.
GOD
We believe God to be the first person of the Trinity. We believe that there is one God who exist externally as the Father, Son & Holy Spirit. As three Persons of the Trinity they are separate, but co-equal. Each is completely God. Yet They are one God.
HUMANITY
Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation.
JESUS CHRIST
We believe Jesus is the son of God and is coequal with the Father & the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus being sent by the Father, was born in human flesh and lived a sinless life. For purposes of redemption of sin for all mankind, he was crucified, died, and resurrected Himself after three days demonstrating power over sin and death. We believe that He ascended to heaven and will one day return for His church.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. The Spirit possesses all of the divine attributes of the Father and the Son and is therefore coequal, coeternal, and consubstantial with them. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily.
THE CHURCH
We believe the church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for fulfillment of Jesus’ Great Commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. There is spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. The Church began on the day of Pentecost and will continue until Jesus returns. We believe that the Church exists in both a universal aspect, as the Body of Christ, and in a local assembly of believers
COMMUNION
Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, is an ordinance given to all believers by Jesus Christ to remember his sacrifice for us and to symbolize the new covenant. The elements of bread and wine or juice are symbols of Christ’s broken body and shed blood. Communion is not a means of salvation. Rather, it is a testament of a believer’s faith in the atoning work of the cross
BAPTISM
We believe Baptism by immersion symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and is your public declaration that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.
SALVATION
We believe Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for our sins. We believe that salvation is by faith and through grace alone. The purpose is redemption. The attitude is humility. The result is accountability. It is a free gift for all who repent and believe; it’s impossible to earn, but it will completely transform our life and eternity
